Update...

I still have not been able to see the trailblazer with my own eyes but it is absolutely amazing that the drivers side is almost completely normal! Balta took a picture (to show some friends who may be interested in buying it for scrap) and 99% of the damage is on the passenger side front (where I was sitting) and the rear passenger (behind Deyanira's seat).
It was neat to hear a friend I have say that she wanted to donate a little money to help us get new car seats... ours were Britax ones (they are obscenely priced~but obviously well worth it!!). I was very touched that she offered but I couldn't take her money. She laughed at me and said she would send it anonymously and I said well thanks for telling me! This way I am prepared! :) I will leave her name out of this but she doesn't need to be recognized she is great without the recognition, plus she might get mad at me saying it here! (You know who you are though!!)
Again, we just want to say thanks for all your prayers/thoughts/concerns! We appreciate them 10 fold!

God was there...12-30-08

This morning we headed west on Hwy 30 to go to Columbus for a dentist apt. We never made it there, as you can see. We were about 5 miles out when we hit a patch of ice and the wind shifted causing us to lose control of the trailblazer and slide across the inside westbound lane, thru the median and across both east bound lanes (in front of an oncoming semi). We rolled twice and landed on our top. In the process we took out 3 huge pine trees and part of a fence and electrical box. My head broke out the passenger window, which is good since it allowed for us to escape. Both Balta and I had our seat belts on and he was able to get his off first and he tried to get the girls out but he couldn't get passed me and the seat. So he unbuckled me and I slide thru to get out Deyanira first and then Yaretzi. I passed each girl out my broken window to Balta and by that time the firemen and ambulance got there. I then proceeded to get out. They made me go to the hospital to get an x-ray of my head and neck to make sure everything is okay. I was cleared of any major trauma and released. (I still have my headache and my body is getting stiff- but I am fine). We say God was there with us to keep us from getting hit by the car behind us and the semi heading for us. We had a cross (from Deyanira's vacation bible study) and a rosary (that I had blessed not long before this) hanging on the rear view mirror. Both are gone without a trace! There is no indication that there was either necklace/rosary in the vehicle. I think God took them to show us He was there and saved us from certain tragedy. The state trooper said that the carseats were in there very tight as when he went to check them, after they righted the blazer, they were still un-movable! He also said that 5-point harness that we still have Deyanira in helped save her as well (I kept telling everyone she is too small to be in a booster!).
It is fortunate that we had at least liablility insurance and now we only have to pay for the towing and storage costs (which are about $250 right now) everything else, aside from the blazer, are paid (i.e. the damage to the trees, electrical box, ambulance ride, ER visit, etc...)
Tomorrow I have to take in teh one and only plate we could find and the registration and get my money for it. I wonder if the salvage yard will give us any money for it? Unlikely I suppose.
Well, as we pray for the health and safety of your family we hope that you pray for ours, because He does listen!
I think it is time for an Our Father...
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
AMEN!!!!!!!

Christmas Day!

Deyanira opened her presants so fast that I didn't get a chance to get any pictures of her opening hers! I have a few pictures of her holding gifts but because she is a wiggle worm they are a bit blurry! However, Santa was VERY nice to the girls this year (they must have been extra good!)

Deyanira's Birthday Party

December 20, 2008
Can you tell she was having a great time? I only wish I got better pictures of both girls together so I could post them both on here! They had on matching outfits and everything! You can't even see all of the kids that were there, nor all the people! Made our hosue feel very small, even though it isn't! Well all that matters is that everyone had a good time!

Our first blog!

Okay, so we are a bit slower than everyone else around here! I have so much trouble keeping in touch with family and friends (even though I am on here all the time :)), I thought I would try this out. If all else fails I will just delete it all and try and go the "old fashioned" route!
Jeez, I am so far behind where do I begin? How about... "Once upon a time..." LOL right to cliche-ish for me! Actually. I should thank Traci for the blog idea, and she thinks she started late! LOL! Thanks Traci! Now, lets just see if I can keep it up!
I guess I will just start by recapping this month! It has been a full one! Deyanira turned 6 on the 11th! Where on earth did time go there? Seemed like I was just changing her diapers not so long ago and now she is in kindergarten and CCD and just knows it all, ask her! She so loves school and CCD, if she is misbehaving I just have to mention no school or CCD and she is alert and acting properly once again (yea right for like a minute or so!) I used to tell everyone she was too cute to be my child, but now her feisty-ness and her attitude clearly amplifies my most dreaded fear...she is a mini-me! No but seriously, she is a really good kid! She could be a whole lot worse! Okay, so we decided to have a party for her birthday and ended up having it on December 20th (I know right before Christmas!). She had a blast! There were tons of big and little people here! Actually there were enough people here to make me NOT want to have a party when we cannot toss the kids outside! Other than that all went well.
Deyanira's current favorite thing is Hannah Montana, although I am not really sure why because she doesn't listen to the music nor does she watch the show! Only time will tell how long this will last! She made out pretty good for her birthday (I had to warn some ppl not to get her clothes or what size to get because she is pretty little for her age!)
The one picture was taken Oct. 1st at her school. And the other picture was taken.... before that for sure because it was taken in the other house we had and after the flood, I am guessing about August or so! I always forget to upload them off the phone and onto the computer so inevitably I forget the dates!
Christmas went well also. Balta says we got the girls too many gifts and they don't need that many so next year they will only get a few things! (Yea right, we know how that will go!)
I wil upload pictures from Christmas and the party later though! I must carry on with my duties!
TTFN!
